Cavalier Bremworth gets its own Green Star Accredited Professionals
A lot of confusion and greenwashing in the flooring market has
prompted Cavalier Bremworth to become the first broadloom carpet
company to have sales executives go through the Green Star
Accredited Professional Course run by the Green Building Council of
Australia. The motivation behind the move was to make specifying
carpet for Green Star projects much easier for retailers and
specifiers.
The course helps professionals in the construction and interiors
sector understand how to effectively implement Green Star tools on
their projects. As a result of the training, the Cavalier Bremworth
sales team can now offer expert advice on specifying carpet as part
of a Green Star Office project.
Sydney-based General Manager for Cavalier Bremworth, Cathy
Howitt, led by example and is now a Green Star Accredited
professional along with her Sydney sales executives Kym Webster and
Stefano Di Giovanni. Margaux Bonne from Victoria, Michelle
Rossi in Queensland and Tim Elsden in Adelaide are also
accredited.
of confusion due to a variety of online tools used to list
'green' products and an assumption by many that all are created
equal," said Howitt. "Only those that carry Good Environmental
Choice Australia (GECA) accreditation are recognised as
environmentally innovative and therefore gain the maximum 100% on
the Green Star materials calculator."
"We're very passionate about walking the talk and being at the
forefront of sustainability - it fits with our philosophy of
leaving a gentler footprint with every step."
She said the entire Cavalier Bremworth carpet range carried GECA
accreditation which made specifying it easy - all that is required
is the GECA certificate for the relevant product which can be found
on the company's website.
"One download can complete the flooring requirements component
for any Green Star project."
"Every Greenstar project has its unique challenges, so if we can
make the flooring aspect of the project simple to manage and easy
to gain points for, then that makes life less complicated for
all."
